Special to this page: Leaving Las Vegas. The backup across Hoover Dam was even worse. Clinching US 93 in Arizona is something I recommend doing while someone else is driving. :-)

Of course the Venetian has canals.

The obligatory Las Vegas picture, especially for roadgeeks. There's a parking lot enabling access to this sign now.

The famous sign has a backside!

A county road freeway and the current west end of I-215.

Clinched I-215 the day after clinching I-515 on the way in.

Did I mention I was having focusing problems?

Hoover Dam bypass construction

Notice the significant decrease in daylight in these pictures. It took that long to finish the last few miles.

I have crossed the Hoover Dam, yet I have not seen it in the daylight.

Given Arizona's modern time idiosyncrasies, it was prescient to put the clocks on either end.

This was my first time in the Pacific Time Zone since 2003, and I spent less than 18 hours in it.

My clinch of US 93 in Arizona only lasts until the bypass opens.

Back to Kingman, then 93 back to Phoenix. Is that an I-40 or BL 40 shield silhouette behind the 66 marker?

University of Phoenix Stadium tour, Dec. 29.

Watering the field outside the stadium.

The Chicago/St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals football program is older than the state it currently occupies.

Decorations for the Fiesta Bowl had all the BCS conferences - but the game was Boise State vs. TCU.

Nearing southwest end of Loop 101.

Northwest I-10/I-17 junction and first appearance of Tucson.
